Dr. Brauker is a true artist. He began by working with drawing and painting, then moved on to clay and bronze work. He carves stories into pottery using his personal experiences and the culture of the Little River Band of Ottawa. Inspired by a dream, his "sgraffito" approach has become his trademark. He keeps storytelling traditions alive by attempting to combine the art and legends of the past with today's contemporary materials. Dr. Brauker's Moon Moon Pottery is dedicated to the preservation of Woodland art. Brauker earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts, a Master of Arts, and a Doctorate from Central Michigan University. He also received an Associate Degree from Mid-Michigan Community College. He also attended the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Dr. Brauker's mission to preserve Woodland art and his "sgraffito" approach inspired the Retro 51 Tornado Woodland Hummingbird and Flowers product. The design of this Tornado is acid-etched into the barrel and then plated in copper with matching accents. The Smithsonian top ring is engraved with its own number and then finished with a sun logo on the finial. Each rollerball is packaged in a souvenir tube that stores the pen when not in use.
